Host German students for a short stay as they attend Roosevelt High School
/Roosevelt High School has a robust international exchange program, managed by Julian Hipkins III, the NAF Academy Director, and Luis Lopez who serves as the Global Studies Coordinator at the school. Roosevelt has hosted students from various countries before and is continuing this tradition for German students stay in late May.
From May 28 to June 1st, Roosevelt will host 16 students and 3 chaperones from Homburg, Germany, and is looking for families who would be interested in hosting students in their homes for the duration of their short stay.
Responsibilities won't extend past making sure the student has a room to sleep and gets dinner every night, along with taking the student out over the weekend they’re here.
“The responsibilities of the host families include providing dinner during the week and meals on the weekend,” said Julian. “And taking part in activities on the weekend either organized by the host family or exchange program chaperone, and answering any questions about DC and or the United States in general.”

Drew’s Editor Note: My family hosted two French students a few years ago and it was a great experience. They were really polite and interested in learning about the neighborhood and life in the US. They also brought some fun gifts for the family!
