A juvenile Hispanic male (older teen) was stabbed along 14th Street late on Monday evening.

According to an email on the MPD 4D listserv from Captain Brian Bray, the victim was stabbed just before 9pm somewhere along 14th Street. I understand he made his way down to Mark's Market (3933 14th St NW) at the corner of Shepherd, walked into the Market and the manager called 911. EMS and MPD responded.

He received two stabs wounds to his stomach and rib cage, with the stomach wound particularly severe. Allegedly, the victim was only somewhat coherent when MPD and EMS arrived, and was unable to provide much in the way of details. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition and MPD will continue investigating. Currently, there is no description of the assailant.

The victim claimed he was stabbed on Upshur and walked down to Shepherd. From what I saw on the scene (at night, in the dark), considering the severity of his wounds, it's odd there was no blood trail along 14th or at the corner near the Market. It's possible he might have been dropped off at an open business to ensure he got help. That's just speculation, however.

MPD is asking for anyone with information about the incident to contact the MPD Command Information Center at 202-727-9099.
