Photo Gallery: Clean up at the park with Friends of Grant Circle
/ DrewThis morning twelve residents and members of the National Park Service worked at Grant Circle to clean up the park, pick up litter, pull weeds and ivy and even pull out a small honeysuckle tree that was quickly taking over its little corner. (I totally dug up that tree... with the expert help of Doug Rowley from NPS. For every shovel full of dirt I "dug up," he had twice as much ground moved and the tree ready to come out.) Experience matters!
Big props to Carol Herwig and George Morgan for working with NPS to organize the new Friends of Grant Circle group and today's clean-up. It wasn't hard work, but it felt good to help keep the park looking nice for the neighborhood.

The oldest tree in the neighborhood. Probably.

When you're not pruning and photographing, it's time for a selfie.

Hope you volunteer next time... It's great!
