Petworth Arts Collaborative presents threes day of events to celebrate Dia de los Muertos

Petworth Arts Collaborative is preparing for their biggest event since their founding almost a year ago and are seeking participants to share the three day event celebrating Dia de los Muertos. They are looking for people to participate in creating altars and artwork. The deadline to apply in their Call for Altars and Student Themed First Friday is fast approaching on Saturday October 28th.

"We are excited to have the participants who have applied to showcase their altars in our procession, from families to staff members from the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian," said Sara Herrera, co-organizer of the event.

You can take part in this rich cultural event that celebrates your loved ones by applying online.

"As part of the celebration, we will have our first Student-Themed First Friday on November 3rd," said co-organizer Maria Mandle. "DC area students will have the opportunity to express their creativity and strengthen their family ties by honoring a loved one through performance or visual art."
