Howard University's 150th Homecoming Parade is Saturday, Oct 21st
/The legendary Howard Homecoming Parade is back! A community staple showcasing bands, celebrity appearances, and the University’s student organizations. Come celebrate with students and alumni and wear your festive Howard University colors as you come together for the prelude of the Howard Homecoming game.
The Howard Homecoming Parade will take place Saturday, October 21st at 10am near Howard University’s main campus. The parade route will travel south along Georgia Avenue and north along Fourth Street. It will commence on campus at Sixth Street and Howard Place, pass the Le Droit Park neighborhood, and conclude near the reservoir.
This year's Grand Marshall is actress, author, producer and Howard University alumna La La Anthony. “Howard has always been a significant part of who I am, from adolescence to my professional adult life,” La La Anthony said. “I continue to carry all the amazing lessons and experiences with me. This year, being the 150th Howard Homecoming, it feels great to come back and I am extremely honored to serve as Grand Marshall.”
This year Howard University will celebrate its annual homecoming with students, faculty, staff, community members and alumni from around the world. The week-long schedule of events includes something for everyone, including the Howard University Golf Classic, the incomparable Yardfest, and the Annual Day of Community Service.
Parade attendees are encouraged to sport Howard colors and participate as prelude to the Homecoming football game against the Morgan State Bears.
