MPD officers from Petworth police service areas 404 and 407 participated in the protection and crowd control efforts at the protests during Friday's inauguration. In my opinion, MPD did an outstanding job protecting residents and visitors, using restraint to ensure those acting lawfully were able to exercise their Constitutional rights... and those who were causing damage were dealt with appropriately.

Each District is subdivided into Police Service Areas (PSA), lead by a Captain and Lieutenants. As of January 3rd, MPD announced that they have created a new patrol structure to go along with the existing Districts and PSAs, called "Sectors."
