A guy robs Bank of America, seems to forget about his mask
/The Bank of America at 3500 Georgia Avenue in Park View was robbed on Tuesday, June 30th just before 1pm.
What struck me about this particular robbery comes from the MPD release about it — specifically the photos of the robber. From the photos, it seems the man entered the bank wearing a surgical mask (thanks COVID), and then proceeded to pull it down during the robbery. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
He provides a pretty good look at his face and an identifying tattoo. Hasn’t he seen any bank robber movies? Luckily, there were no reported injuries. Full details below.

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to a Bank Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
At approximately 12:52 pm, the suspect entered a Bank of America, at the listed location. The suspect verbally demanded US currency. The employee complied and the suspect fled the scene with US currency.
The suspect was captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos (above).
Anyone who can identify this individual or has information regarding this case should call law enforcement at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information can be submitted through the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC is currently offering a reward of up to $5,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each bank robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
