Combine your love of Petworth and photography at the Library
/The Petworth Library is hosting a “Photos of Petworth” program to create a visual time capsule of the Petworth neighborhood in the summer of 2016. They are inviting Petworth residents to take a photography class and/or just share stories of their daily lives through photography by uploading your awesome "life in Petworth" photos to their shared Flickr group, and they'll include them in the time capsule! The library hopes that your photos "capture an unique time period in a changing neighborhood."
Fifty selected photos will be printed and displayed in a showcase at Petworth Library.
To help you capture amazing photos, the Library is offering two free photography classes for photographers of all levels on June 11th and the 25th. You can register for photography classes online on Eventbrite.
Following the Photos of Petworth exhibit, a photo album will be created for the DC Public Library’s reference collection and photos may also be added to DigDC, their digital repository.
Here's the "Photos of Petworth" schedule:
- Now - July: Upload your photos of Petworth on Flickr
- June 11 and 25 from 10am - 12pm: Learn Street Photography (free photo classes)
- August 11: Showcase
