Owned by Jamie Leeds, who owns a successful chain of Hank’s branded restaurants and bars downtown and on the Wharf, originally opened the Upshur Street location as The Twisted Horn, an upscale cocktail bar with a small food menu and a large rear patio. In November of 2016, it rebranded as Hank’s Cocktail Bar and reduced their menu. But the bar struggled from the beginning and never really got on its feet. The kitchen in the back is small, but there’s promise in that space, especially the beautiful back patio and mural by DC artist Nekisha Durrett.
There’s plenty of opportunity on Upshur Street, it seems. What’s next?
