/Saturday April 27th is Independent Bookstore Day. The DC Indie stores will be decked out and celebrating all day with special deals and events (story times, author events, parties, etc.). And this year, there will be extra awesomeness: DC bookstores are hosting the first-ever Bookstore Crawl!
You can visit each store on Independent Bookstore Day using a handy “Crawl Map.” If you get a stamp for all ten stores you win a prize tote bag branded for the day. The map also entitles you to 20% off any item at the bookstores (and bogo drinks at Peregrine Espresso on April 27).
Loyalty Bookstore says they have a full day of events planned:
All day long we’ll have raffles, treats, and special events to party in style.
We kick off with storytime at 11am with Juris Prudence! From 12-4 get a free balloon animal courtesy of owner Hannah Oliver Depp’s mom- a professional clown and storyteller for the last 24 years! Then at 7pm we’re luxuriating in the Reading Room for Literary Cocktails with Chantal Tseng centered on The Lost Children Archive by Valery Luiselli.
PLUS! We’ll be launhing our new LOYALTY membership program! PLUS! You can enjoy sister discounts at Lulabelle’s, Willow, and Petworth Citizen right here on Upshur Street all day long.
