It’s raining, it’s pouring, the Powell Carnival will still be soaring!
/
Not sure if you've noticed, but it's kind of raining out there! That won't stop the Powell Community Carnival -- it is still going on this Saturday, May 19th from 11:00-5:00pm.
Instead of out on the Roosevelt High School football field, the new location will be inside the Roosevelt gym (4400 Iowa Ave NW) and out in the parking lot off of Iowa Ave, where you'll find an amazing lineup of music performances, fun games, awesome food, and more!
Best way to get to the Carnival is via Iowa Avenue between the Petworth Library and MacFarland.
If you enter through the football field on Upshur, you can still get to the Carnival by walking up the bleachers (but they recommend entry through Iowa Ave.)
Inside the gym, you'll enjoy some great music and children's performances, carnival games from each of the school's grades, face painting, balloon animals and even an informative CPR demonstration.
Outside they will have a Moon Bounce, Human Hippo Chow Down, an Obstacle Course, Bungee Basketball shoot, and a ton of activities on the soccer field. Powell's amazing food team will still be cooking up a storm and they have a ton of tents to keep the food -- and people -- nice and dry!

(PS: Alas, due to the rain, they canceled the Dunk Tank... so you won't be able to try to dunk Drew.)
