If Santa is your thing (and really, who doesn’t love Santa?) then there’s a “Miracle on Upshur Street” coming this weekend.

Uptown Main Street and local parents group Petworth Peanuts are hosting a Christmas-themed event along the 800 and 900 block of Upshur on December 5th starting at 2pm. There will be live music and giveaways from participating businesses starting at 2pm, and then more activities at the Petworth Park around the corner.

Come to the basketball court at the park at 3pm to take photos with Santa and get one of 500 free gifts. Plus, free balloon artistry from Crystallite Designs, free lawn games with DC Fray, dance fun with One Rule Dance, and performances by Sing Books with Emily (including festive Hanukkah tunes and treats).

The Salvation Army will be onhand with an “Angel Tree” (where you can select gift wishes to fulfill for area kids in need). Plus, you can bring donations of small toiletries, clean socks, new packages of underwear and/or hand and foot warmers to benefit Ward 4 Mutual Aid.
