Uptown Main Street (UMS) is supporting local businesses around its corridors by launching the virtual “Rediscover Uptown Scavenger Hunt” from September 18th to the 25th as part of a series of fun fall events.

Like many businesses around the nation, COVID-19 has greatly impacted independently owned businesses in Uptown. This led UMS to think creatively and work with its volunteers and partners to make sure that local businesses can continue to survive during this difficult time.

From selfies with murals to showing-off their favorite dance moves, teams of up to 10 people will compete to complete tasks, on a list provided, while rediscovering the neighborhood. Each team will have from September 18 at 9am until September 25 at 9pm to complete the tasks. The top three teams with the most points will win virtual gift baskets from the businesses in the community. This is a free event. How to Play

The hunt begins at 9am on Friday, September 18, 2020, and runs through 9pm on Friday, September 25, 2020. There will be a total of 20 teams of up to 10 people.

Before you begin, choose your team of up to 10 people ( anyone with more than 10 people will be disqualified). Then choose a team name and captain. The team captain will be the first to join the game and create a new team using the team name that the group agreed on. Once this is done, all other team members can join the game and look for their team name.

2. Choose to play as a guest, or register for a personal account with a username & password of your choice.

3. Search for and select the Rediscover Uptown Scavenger Hunt game, or search by game code 7D4REW.

4. Follow the prompts to select or create your team.

THE PRIZES (ONE PRIZE PER TEAM)

Teams must accumulate a minimum of 100 points to be eligible for prizes.

Prizes are as follows:

1st Place Grand Prize: $250 virtual gift basket of local business goods
2nd Place: $150 virtual gift basket of local business goods
3rd Place: $100 virtual gift basket of local business goods

In the event of a tie, both teams will be drawn at random from tied group
