DC Holiday Lights brings sparkling joy around the city

DC Holiday Lights returns to brighten our streets on Friday November 19th, running until January 6th. This fun streetscape decorations will be in 14 unique commercial corridors with hundreds of businesses signed up to decorate their storefronts. Residents and visitors are invited to pursue the streets, soak in the razzle and dazzle of the season, and participate in a scavenger hunt, all while hopefully shopping small to support our local businesses.

Bill White, owner of Fish in the Hood, is in the hospital and his family could use your help

Bill White is an awesome guy. I first met him several years ago at his restaurant Fish in the Neighborhood on Georgia Avenue in Park View. Known as “Fish in the Hood,” the restaurant is one of the best places in DC to get fresh seafood. The popular restaurant has gone through ups and downs, a fire, issues with his landlord and still has stayed open to serve the community.

Bill is in the hospital with a lung infection and collapsed lung, and doesn’t have insurance. His step-mother has organized a GoFundMe to help cover costs.
