Annie's Hardware robbed at gunpoint on Saturday evening
/I drove by Annie's Ace Hardware on Saturday night just after 7pm to see half a dozen MPD cars parked out front. According to MPD's twitter account, and an MPD notification email today, the store was robbed at gunpoint by two men.
MPD described the suspects as: "(Suspect 1): B/M gray jacket/gray pants wearing a black ski mask; armed with a silver handgun. (Suspect 2 ) Red Jacket, wearing black ski mask."
I think this is the third time the hardware has been robbed? Really terrible -- and seeing the handgun held to the body of one of Annie's employees creates a visceral reaction.

Suspects Sought in an Armed Robbery of an Establishment (Gun) Offense: 1200 Block of Upshur Street, Northwest
(Washington, DC) - Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in reference to an Armed Robbery of an Establishment (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 9, 2017, in the 1200 block of Upshur Street, Northwest.
At approximately 6:54 pm, two suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded US currency. The victims complied. The suspects fled on foot with US currency.
The suspects were captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos [above].
Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an armed robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
