9-year old dog stolen on April 9th still missing, HRA offers reward for public help
/A nine-year old grey and white bull terrier, Bae, was allegedly stolen from her home on the 1200 block of Decatur Street NW around 5:45pm on April 9th. At first, the owners had hoped a yard gate left open by a service provider may have let the dog escape on her own, but a video captured by a neighbor’s security camera shows two people — a man and a woman — walking with Bae at the same time. (Note, the Nest security video has been replaced by photos taken from the video.)
Stealing a dog is like abducting a child, a truly reprehensible act. If you know who did it — or it was you — there’s a way out to make this right. The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a reward — no questions asked — for Bae’s safe return:
The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $500 reward for the safe return of a 9-year-old, gray and white bull terrier mix and/or for information that leads to the dog’s whereabouts and safe return to her family.
The dog was last seen on April 9 at around 5:45 p.m. on the 1200 block of Decatur St NW. Surveillance footage of the area shows two people walking a dog that appears may be her.
“We’re hopeful our reward will help reunite this family who has been besides themselves after the theft of their senior dog,” said Chris Schindler, Vice President of Field Services at HRA.
HRA urges anyone that has the dog to either bring her to the Humane Rescue Alliance at 1201 New York Avenue NE or call HRA to pick her up at 202-576-6664, option 1 -- no questions asked, as long as she is safely returned. HRA urges anyone with information about the dog’s whereabouts to contact HRA, as well.
