New burger joint "Burgerim" to open in Petworth

(from the Burgerim website)

File under “Finally,” as it seems the Park Place building on Georgia Avenue is finally getting another tenant in the first floor empty retail spots.

Burgerim, a franchise burger restaurant with locations around the country, is opening in the 2nd spot (looking north from the intersection of Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues). From the Burgerim website, they describe the restaurant as offering “chef-inspired burgers” that come in “3 ounce patties served in packs and include onions, tomatoes, and lettuce.” They offer options for buns, sauces, patties and toppings for the burgers, with a focus on customization.

You can also get different kinds of sandwiches, wings, chicken strips, fries, salads and drinks. (You can check out their menu online.)

The pictures of restaurant interiors from the website make the place look like an upscale fast food burger joint, just a bit fancier than a Wendy’s or Five Guys.

There’s more than 160 locations in the US, with a few close by in Arlington and Wheaton, Maryland, in case you find yourself there and want to try them out before they open. (Since they’re still in the permitting phase, it’ll probably be several more months.)

Great to have another location in the Park Place building occupied!

Once it opens, it’ll be just off the corner of Georgia and New Hampshire Avenues.
