Get your spook on with this year's Halloween roundup
/We can't believe Halloween is just around the corner! With all the kids in this neighborhood, you better believe Petworth will bring its A game next Wednesday. But don’t worry, local bars and restaurants are making sure adults have some solid options too.
Here’s a roundup of our favorite spooky events, kids first, then a bunch of adult beverage events below.

October 26
St. Paul’s Rock Creek Parish annual Spooktacular Halloween Bash
6 to 8 pm

Come to the Great Hall at St. Paul's Center for an evening filled with music, treats, pumpkin decorating, cemetery hayrides, and more. Admission is free, but please bring a canned food item for the Capital Area Food Bank. Entrance to the grounds is on the corner of Rock Creek Church Rd and Webster St NW.
2nd Annual Spooky Manor Park

Second Annual spooky neighborhood Halloween party, hosted by the Manor Park Citizens Association. Will have lots of activities for kids and adults, including games, crafts, food, music, and a photo booth. Costumes are encouraged!
October 27
Celebrate Petworth Halloween Bash

This Petworth halloween party is back for its 12th year! Come in costume to the 500 block of Taylor Street northwest for food, drinks, and a costume parade.

Sherman Circle Halloween Parade

Join Councilmember Todd at the Sherman Circle Halloween Parade for Kids on Sunday, October 28th from 4-6 PM. Stick around for seasonal snacks and kids games and activities, and check the amazingly decorated house at 1 Sherman Circle!

It’s a paint and sip, Halloween style! Slash Run will serve spiced apple cider, and provide pumpkins and painting supplies. Small pumpkins are $8, large pumpkins are $12.

Orange and Noir at Petworth Citizen

OK this one is a bit of a stretch but hey, good wine is worth bending our strict “Halloween events only” rules for. Petworth Citizen is hosting a Halloween-themed Natural Wine Night featuring skin-contact white wines (also known as Orange) and wines that end in Noir. Geddit, orange and black? Choose from a la carte tastings, or play the Wine Game for $36, which gets you snacks from Odd Provisions, a flight of 4 blind tastings, and a spin at the Wine Game app, which will test your palate and wine knowledge.

Motown Halloween Party at Red Derby

On Saturday night, Red Derby will be spinning Motown-inspired sounds all night. The bar is offering a cinnamon whiskey cider and the Ghost of Memphis combo: a 3 Stars Ghost IPA and a shot of Jack.
Happy Trees Community Festival at Anxo Cider House

The 2nd Annual Happy Trees Community Festival will feature costume contests, live music, apple pressing, and of course plenty of cider and talos (think Basque-inspired tacos) made on-site.

Calling all gamers! Ten Tigers is throwing its first ever Halloween event, and its going to be a huge, free video game and arcade party. The bar is setting up multiple rooms of video games, board games, arcade cabinets, and bartop consoles. It will also host a cosplay / costume context, with a $200 first place prize. And of course there will be plenty of drinking and dancing too.

October 31 - Halloween!
Night of the Living Dead at Homestead

Time to dust off those Curt Cobain and Marilyn Monroe costumes. Homestead is hosting a haunted Hollywood Halloween party on its rooftop. Guests who dress up as a dead celebrity will receive a free drink. This event is free and open to the public.
Pumpkin carving contest & halloween movie screening at Red Derby
7 - 10 pm

On Halloween night Red Derby will host its annual pumpkin carving contest and screen the movie Halloween on the big screen. Red Derby will provide 10 pumpkins, first come first serve, or you can BYO. The movie and carving starts around 7 p.m., with judging and prizes for the best spooky masterpieces between 9-9:30.
Halloween Tarot and Cocktails at Slash Run

Let’s hope your fortune isn’t too spooky! Come for cocktails, halloween flicks, and complementary 15 minute individual tarot card readings. Suggested donation of $10.
