DC Water offering Free Lead Service Replacement for households on nine blocks

Through September 30, 2022, DC Water is offering free lead service line replacement for eligible households (regardless of income) located on nine blocks within Petworth and Brightwood Park:
5100 Block of 7th Street NW
5200 Block of 7th Street NW
5300 Block of 7th Street NW
4900 Block of 9th Street NW
5100 Block of 9th Street NW
5300 Block of 9th Street NW
800 Block of Emerson Street NW
900 Block of Emerson Street NW
5100 Block of Illinois Avenue NW
To see whether your household currently has lead service lines which should be replaced, see DC Water’s map. Maps of the project areas during FYs 2022 and 2023 (and beyond) are available at the end of this DC Water document.
Agreements for this work must be signed by the property owner or an authorized representative. If replying by email (preferred method), sign one copy of the Agreement and email a scanned copy to lead@dcwater.com under the subject "Private Lead/Galvanized Service Line Replacement Project.”
If replying by Postal mail, return one signed copy to: District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority, Lead Pipe Replacement Program, 301 Bryant Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.
