Life’s going to be a beach in Petworth on July 6th
/What a fun idea!
“Upshur Beach” is going to be a thing, and it’s happening on Saturday, July 6th, 2-7pm thanks to Pipkin Creative, Art of Noize and Capital City Hydroponics.
Together, they’re bringing the fun of the beach to Upshur Street complete with music, food, beer and more. All ages welcome (just no pets). RSVP for free.
Upshur Beach is a day party in the heart of Petworth, down the alley behind Petworth Citizen in the gravel lot in front of Capital City Hydroponics. Music from Nag Champa (and guest), along with DJ Nate Geezie.
Food provided from the legendary Short Eats, featuring Sri Lankan roti and curries. Local beer on draft. Vibes all day.
Free Bomb Pops while supplies last!
Beach themed attire recommended but not required. BYO beach chair.
DJ Nate Geezie is the founder of Sound Affects DC, a member of District Soul DJs, and a Soulbounce Mixologist.
“Like spray tans and Ray-Bans, we are bringing the beach to Upshur Street,” said Art of Noize founder Adrian Ferguson.
"Will we be turning the gravel lot behind Petworth Citizen into a beach?” asked organizer Tom Pipkin. “Not a chance, but wear your sunglasses and coolest beach attire anyway! The music, beer, food and friends will be way more fun than battling beach traffic.”
RSVP to attend! It’s free, but they need the headcount…
