Get ready for the Celebrate Petworth Festival by volunteering!
/Celebrate Petworth is kicking off planning for the 2022 street festival, and they’re seeking volunteers to help make the day’s magic happen! This year's event will take place on Saturday, September 24th on the 800 block of Upshur Street NW.
The Celebrate Petworth Festival has both long-term and short-term volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers work on a variety of tasks, including developing event activities, fundraising and sponsorships, and event promotion. There's something for everyone!
Last year's volunteers led the organization of the dog show, planned an incredible Oral History Storytelling event, put together an amazing kids zone, knocked on many doors to inform neighbors about the event, swept the street the day of the festival and much more.
This year, the Planning Committee has six open chair/co-chair positions: fundraising, oral history, sponsorships, dog show, Taste of Petworth, and committee member at-large. Have an activation you'd like to see happen as part of the festival? Apply to be a Committee Member At-Large!
If a Planning Committee role isn't for you, the festival also needs volunteers for a variety of important short-term tasks, like neighborhood outreach and help during the actual event.
If you'd like to be on the Planning Committee, sign up on their website now—the initial Planning Committee kick-off meeting will be happening in April!
