Home sales speed up as supply drops during Covid [sponsored]

Home sellers in the DC area were enjoying a very good market just a few months ago before the coronavirus hit. Could it be possible that the pandemic has actually made it easier to sell a house? It all comes down to Supply and Demand.

With people staying at home, home sales in the region have dropped quite a bit. But there has been an even bigger drop in the supply of homes for sale. When there are fewer homes for sale, it works to the advantage of sellers.

Buyers are willing to pay more now. In April, home prices hit a record high for the DC area. And homes are selling faster. In April homes spent an average of seven days on the market. We need to look back ten years to find homes selling that fast.

People contemplating selling their homes should seriously consider listing now while the inventory is low, forcing buyers to act fast and pay top dollar. This unusual situation has resulted in a great time for sellers of homes.
