The next "First Friday" arts event is set for this Friday, May 5th from 6-8pm on Upshur Street. This event brings musicians, artists and more to retail and restaurants along Upshur Street, helping to support both the arts and our local businesses. This week, the Petworth Arts Collaborative has partnered with "Georgia Avenue Thrive" to be able to bring even more ART and community engagement.

Ceramists Carol Herwig and Samantha Gordon will demonstrate how to turn mud into beautiful, functional dinnerware.

Petworth family man and musician David Curtin plays music from his latest project, LOST FOX.

Teatro de Luna Theater - 4020 Georgia Avenue NW
Teatro de Luna will perform their bilingual family show, Aprendiendo Juntos/Drop In Not Out at 6:30pm.

Fia’s Fabulous Finds - 806 Upshur Street NW
Dance and shop to the sounds of native Washingtonian DJ Dee Clark as she spins an eclectic set from Jungle/Drum and Bass to Latin Jazz.

Hank’s Cocktail Bar - 819 Upshur Street NW
Kari Faherty’s residency continues and she will have new work to replace ones that have already been sold. Learn more about the story behind her art, it’s a real look into how someone sees the world.
