Petworth Bandstand returns on Sunday, April 8th with 4 bands, 4 hours, 4 free!
/The Petworth Bandstand free music show returns this Sunday, April 8th from 1-5pm at Petworth Citizen (829 Upshur St NW). The show kicks off at 1pm and goes until 5ish... with four local bands performing! The past two shows have been great, and this one will be awesome.
Petworth Citizen is donating 10% of food and drink proceeds to the Friends of the Soldiers Home, a local non-profit that supports the veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home (located off of Rock Creek Church Road). This is a great organization who works hard to support our veterans, and they're always looking for volunteers!
Here's the line-up:
- 1-2pm: DJ Unknown and Tom Pipkin (electronic and acoustic percussion)
- 2-3pm: The Treads (folk rock)
- 3-4pm: Distant Creatures (pop rock -- acoustic!)
- 4-5pm: Ménage À Garage (punk -- bring ear plugs!)
About the Bands
DJ UNKNOWN & TOM PIPKIN
Otherwise known as Rich Patterson, DJ Unknown is an extremely talented DJ known for spinning amazing music while traveling the world with Oddisee's band Good Compny and playing at the summertime Petworth Jazz Project. Accompanying Rich is local Tom Pipkin, a talented percussionist, and the founder of the Jazz Project, one of the instigators of the Petworth Mural, co-founder of the Petworth Farmer's Market and the Celebrate Petworth Festival. So he's pretty legit Petworth.
