The market needs funds to help cover the cost of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) benefits at the market, along with the city's exorbitant fees.

The Petworth Bandstand free music show returns this Sunday, April 8th from 1-5pm at Petworth Citizen (829 Upshur St NW). The show kicks off at 1pm and goes until 5ish... with four local bands performing! The past two shows have been great, and this one will be awesome.

It wasn’t the trip that most excited me about this group of playful 10 and 11 year olds -- who have been friends for many years -- what impressed me was the enthusiasm they shared about their education and experiences over the last seven years.
